The Divorce Settlement Is Sealed — So Every Figure Is Invented
His 2010 divorce from Myrna Colley-Lee is routinely described as one of the largest celebrity settlements of its era, at $100 million, $200 million, sometimes $400 million.
Here is what the Associated Press actually reported. The decree was entered on 15 September 2010 in Tallahatchie County, Mississippi, ending a marriage of 26 years. The petition had been filed under seal in July 2008. There was no trial. His attorney’s comment was that it was done without one and everybody was glad it was over.
A case sealed at filing and settled without a trial never generates a public evidentiary record. There is nothing for a figure to have leaked from. A Restaurant That Never Made Money

Freeman and the attorney Bill Luckett opened the Madidi restaurant in 2001 and closed it in February 2012. Luckett said plainly that it never turned a profit, while maintaining it was not a failure; he had quietly looked for a buyer and found none.
Their other Clarksdale venture, the Ground Zero Blues Club, opened in 2001 and still operates.
