Net worth & personal profile

William ShatnerNet Worth

The $100M estimate tested against Shatner’s own Priceline denial, zero original-series rerun income, seven decades of paid work and an active 2026 schedule.

Current net worth
Not independently established

William Shatner’s current net worth is not independently verifiable. Celebrity Net Worth publishes $100 million, but no reviewed source provides a dated asset-and-liability schedule. Two stories often used to support the total are false or misleading: Shatner says he did not make $600 million from Priceline stock, and he says the original 1960s Star Trek series pays him no rerun royalties. His seven-decade career, later Star Trek films, two Emmy-winning Denny Crane roles, books, live appearances, endorsements and current projects support substantial earnings without proving a precise retained fortune.

The essentials

01

Celebrity Net Worth publishes $100 million but provides no current balance sheet, contract ledger, investment schedule or debt calculation. [1]

02

Shatner directly denies making $600 million from Priceline. He says the locked-up stock rose, collapsed before he could sell and was later disposed of. [3]

03

He says the original pre-1973 Star Trek series pays him no rerun royalties. Later films, appearances and other Trek-related work are separate contracts. [4]

The estimate · Priceline · Star Trek · Current work · Family & now · Evidence

William Shatner’s money story is regularly told through two seductive claims: a $600 million Priceline windfall and decades of Star Trek rerun checks. Shatner has personally rejected both.

That does not make his career financially small. It means the documented sources of work—acting, books, live shows, endorsements, producing, voice roles and music—must be kept separate from invented stock profits and nonexistent original-series royalties. Net Worth VIP — methodology

01 / The estimate

$100M is a publisher estimate, not a disclosed personal balance sheet

Celebrity Net Worth currently publishes $100 million. Its page does not show Shatner’s cash, securities, pension and royalty rights, property equity, private-company interests, taxes, family transfers, insurance or liabilities at a defined date.

A long career makes a large fortune plausible. Shatner has worked across theater, television, seven Star Trek feature appearances, directing, books, albums, advertising, documentaries, conventions and touring. Plausibility still cannot replace the missing ownership and retention data.

The old profile strengthened its $100 million headline with invented assets: a private jet, worldwide real estate, a horse farm business and a stake in the Star Trek franchise. None of the reviewed evidence supports those claims as current assets. The structured value is therefore left blank.

02 / The Priceline myth

Shatner did not make $600M from Priceline stock

Shatner did receive Priceline stock connected to his work as the company’s pitchman. The crucial detail is the lockup: in his CNN account, the shares rose while he could not sell, then collapsed with the dot-com crash. He says he later got rid of them.

When Piers Morgan asked directly about the $600 million story, Shatner answered no. In a later AARP interview he again denied it, saying the shares were worth roughly 25 cents to one dollar when he could sell and that he thought he might get about $1,500.

The campaign clearly had brand value and continued visibility. The amount of his cash fees, later stock compensation and total endorsement income is not publicly itemized. Repeating the disproven $600 million figure makes the net-worth estimate less credible, not more.

03 / Star Trek and television

Captain Kirk created career value—but not original-series rerun checks

Star Trek ran for three seasons from 1966 to 1969 before syndication turned it into a durable franchise. Shatner has repeatedly said that the original pre-1973 episodes do not pay him rerun royalties. The former profile’s claim of continuing original-series residuals was false.

That statement is narrow. Shatner returned as Kirk in feature films, directed Star Trek V, sold books and live appearances around the cultural legacy, and continued taking later paid work. A convention fee or a movie contract is not an ownership stake in the franchise.

His non-Kirk career matters financially: T.J. Hooker, Rescue 911, The Practice, Boston Legal, voice work and advertising created additional income channels. The Television Academy records seven nominations, two Emmy wins for Denny Crane and a 2006 Hall of Fame honor, but no salary totals.

04 / Work, rights and public projects

At 95, the active schedule still creates income without revealing take-home pay

The official schedule lists late-2026 convention appearances, while the dedicated tour pairs screenings of The Wrath of Khan with Shatner’s live conversation and audience questions. Ticket prices and venue capacity are gross indicators; promoter splits, travel, staff and guarantees remain private.

His recent output includes the feature documentary You Can Call Me Bill and the 2026 audio project Cosmos Confidential with Neil deGrasse Tyson. An SEC filing reports roughly $135,000 of documentary net picture revenue through April 2025 for the film’s investor waterfall. That is project-level revenue owed through a corporate structure, not Shatner’s personal income.

The Hollywood Charity Horse Show has operated since 1990 and held a 2026 event supporting children’s, veterans’ and therapeutic-riding organizations. Charitable activity shows a lasting equestrian commitment; donated funds and event receipts are not personal assets.

05 / Partner, family and now

Elizabeth Martin is his partner again; three daughters anchor the current story

Shatner married four times. His 2020 divorce from fourth wife Elizabeth Martin remained legally final, but he told Parade in 2024 that they live together again and are effectively remarried without another ceremony. “Partner” is therefore more precise than claiming a new legal marriage.

He has three daughters with first wife Gloria Rand: Leslie, Lisabeth and Melanie. In 2026 Shatner and Melanie launched No Time But Now after publicly describing their successful treatment for Stage 4 cancers. Their official announcement says both were cancer-free when the series began.

Blue Origin carried Shatner to space at 90 in October 2021; Ed Dwight later superseded his oldest-person record in 2024. Current work includes the podcast, live appearances and William Shatner… And You, announced for late 2026. These projects establish continued activity, not their undisclosed personal profit.
