The $65 million figure: keep the reporting period attached
Forbes’ June 2009 top-earning-actors report placed Ford’s earnings at $65 million between June 2008 and June 2009, and described his Kingdom of the Crystal Skull earnings as coming exclusively from profit participation.
The publication’s stated measurement is the important detail. We record it as a historical annual earnings estimate. We do not restate it as a verified upfront salary for Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, a current annual income, or a separate payment to add on top of an assumed film fee.
To isolate the full proceeds of a particular contract, we would need the contract and the accounting periods covered by the payments. A rich-list ranking does not supply that reconciliation. Repeating the amount on several websites does not create independent confirmation of a different measurement.
Disney’s filing identifies the Lucasfilm seller
Disney’s October 30, 2012 Form 8-K, Item 8.01 identifies Lucasfilm’s sole shareholder as an entity affiliated with George Lucas. It says that shareholder would receive the agreed $4.05 billion consideration in cash and stock.
That transaction is not a Harrison Ford payday. This is a specific ownership distinction grounded in the buyer’s filing, not an inference from the success of Star Wars. It does not rule out separate acting, residual or participation contracts. It means the corporate sale price cannot be assigned to Ford merely because he played Han Solo.
Likewise, an actor’s share of a defined revenue stream is different from equity in a production company. A claim about one cannot substantiate a claim about the other. We do not infer Ford’s contract percentages from Disney’s acquisition price.
The reported divorce amount remains qualified
The existing timeline includes a reported $85 million settlement with Melissa Mathison. Its cited source, Nicki Swift’s retrospective, attributes the amount to Forbes. We have not independently checked a settlement instrument establishing its composition.
It is retained as a secondary-source report, not an audited deduction from present wealth. In particular, a historical settlement figure should not be combined with an assumed value for future royalties unless the treatment of those rights is known; otherwise the calculation may count the same obligation twice.
What the television credits do not reveal
Paramount’s official page for 1923 credits Ford as Jacob Dutton. A cast credit establishes the role. It does not establish an episode fee, the number of paid episodes under an individual contract, or a current salary.
We have therefore removed the previous FAQ’s invented calculation of a $350 million fortune. We have not replaced it with another point estimate or extrapolated a television rate across seasons.
What would establish a current total?
A credible personal valuation would need current assets, outstanding debt and the value of relevant contractual interests without double counting. The sources here do not provide that complete picture. They support specific historical events, with different recipients, dates and levels of certainty.
