The essentials
The $50M estimate refers to his death in 2022; it is not a new annual income figure or a 2026 estate valuation. [2]
A house sale turns an asset into sale proceeds. Adding its whole price to an older wealth estimate can count the same asset twice. [6]
The Bob Saget Memorial Scleroderma Research Fund supports charity research; its assets are separate from his estate. [8]
The money story · Screen and stage · Family · Property and later work · Legacy · Evidence
Bob Saget’s career worked in two registers: the reassuring television dad and the stand-up comic whose adult material could surprise viewers who knew only Danny Tanner. His public legacy also includes directing, a podcast and years of charity work.
This profile separates the estimate made for his lifetime from later events involving his work and property. Our methodology explains why a sale, a royalty stream and a donation cannot simply be added into one fortune.
01 / The money story
What the $50M estimate actually describes
Celebrity Net Worth gives a $50 million estimate at Saget’s death in 2022. It is an attributed publisher figure, rather than an independently verified inventory of his estate. A present-day review of that page does not turn the estimate into a new valuation.
His work could involve performance fees, television compensation, rights and later catalogue receipts. Public credits show what he worked on; they do not supply all his contracts, expenses, taxes or the distribution of his estate.
02 / Screen and stage
The TV dad, the narrator and the stand-up comic
The Scleroderma Research Foundation’s memorial identifies Full House and America’s Funniest Home Videos among his defining television work, alongside his narration of How I Met Your Mother. His stand-up career continued alongside his screen persona; it was not a sudden second career that began after television.
The Recording Academy lists one nomination and no wins: Best Comedy Album at the 2014 Grammys for That’s What I’m Talkin’ About. A nomination is recognition, not an award win or a disclosed payment.
His official catalogue also preserves his podcast Bob Saget’s Here For You, the book Dirty Daddy and the 2017 special Zero to Sixty. These different formats explain the breadth of the career without establishing what every project paid him.
03 / Family
Kelly Rizzo and three daughters
AP’s obituary identifies Kelly Rizzo as his wife, whom he married in 2018, and names Aubrey, Lara and Jennifer as his daughters with Sherri Kramer. The parallel with his best-known role was real: he was a father of three daughters off screen too.
Saget died on January 9, 2022, aged 65, after being found in an Orlando hotel while on a stand-up tour.
04 / Property and later work
A reported home sale and a film released in 2026
Entertainment Tonight reported in February 2023 that his Brentwood home sold for $5.4 million, following an initial asking price it rounded to $7.7 million. The report attributes the transaction to other reporting; we have not independently inspected a deed or estate account.
Using those rounded report figures, the sale was $2.3 million below the original asking price, approximately 30% lower. That measures an asking-price difference, not an investment loss. Sale costs, debt and the property’s value already included in any earlier estimate would matter before calculating net proceeds or estate wealth.
Netflix’s October 7, 2026 announcement confirms Who Is Martin Mull? was released after Saget’s death. Saget’s official site describes his shared directing and executive-producing role. A posthumous credit keeps his work in circulation; it does not disclose a new estate payment.
05 / Legacy
The cause behind the comedy benefits
SRF’s timeline traces his involvement with Cool Comedy • Hot Cuisine from 1991 and his board service from 2003 to 2022. The foundation places his sister Gay’s death in 1994 and identifies the 1996 film For Hope as a tribute to her experience with scleroderma.
Its January 2026 remembrance says the Bob Saget Memorial Scleroderma Research Fund continues to support the foundation’s research programme. That is an institutional charitable legacy, separate from the assets and distributions of a family estate.
The evidence, with its limits
| Public evidence | What it describes | What it does not establish |
|---|---|---|
| $50M publisher estimate | A figure attributed to wealth at death in 2022 | A verified 2026 estate balance |
| Reported $5.4M home sale | A later property transaction | Net proceeds or an extra $5.4M of wealth |
| Approximately 30% asking-price difference | Our calculation from rounded reported prices | A realised investment loss |
| Posthumous documentary credit | Work reaching audiences in 2026 | A disclosed rights payment |
| Memorial research fund | A charitable research programme | Private assets of Saget or his heirs |
