Uncovering Aaron Rodgers’ Net Worth: A Comprehensive Look

Aaron Rodgers has earned $395,812,794 in NFL salary and bonuses. That figure is unusually solid — it reconciles three separate ways in the same database. What it does not give you is a net worth, and this profile is about why those are different things.

Aaron Rodgers Net Worth: Why We Publish No Figure

  • $250 million — Celebrity Net Worth, with no method disclosed. The same page claims career earnings “well over $500 million” and never explains the gap
  • Documented instead: $395,812,794 in career NFL earnings, from three internally consistent tables
  • Our take: no verified net worth. His single largest non-football asset has no disclosed price at all. See our methodology.

This is the clearest case on this site of a well-documented income side that still yields no wealth figure. Everything is known about what he was paid. Almost nothing is known about what he kept.

Contract Volume Is Not What He Received

NFL contracts carry three different numbers, and aggregators habitually quote the largest one. Over The Cap’s contract history lets us set them side by side:

ContractVolumeGuaranteedActually paidShare
Packers 2005 (rookie)$7,655,000$4,077,500$6,215,00081.2%
Packers 2008$63,520,000$20,000,000$44,250,00069.7%
Packers 2013$110,000,000$54,000,000$88,412,50080.4%
Packers 2018$134,000,000$78,700,000$125,814,70693.9%
Packers 2022$150,815,000$101,415,000$41,950,00027.8%
Jets 2023$112,500,000$75,000,000$75,050,00066.7%
Steelers 2025$13,650,000 (max $19,500,000)$10,000,000$14,120,588103.4%
Steelers 2026$22,500,000 (max $25,000,000)$22,000,000$0 so far

The 2022 Packers deal is the one that breaks every summary. Nominally $150.8 million with $101.4 million guaranteed — he received $41,950,000 from Green Bay, or 27.8 per cent. Worse, it was first reported as “four years, $200 million”, when the signed deal was $150,815,000 across three years with two placeholder seasons. Against that first headline he collected about 21 per cent.

A caution about the source itself. Over The Cap’s own “Total Guarantees” field reads $466,607,500 — and that double-counts the 2022 agreement by exactly $101,415,000, because it appears twice, once under Green Bay and once under the Jets. Corrected, it is $365,192,500, and even that number is economically meaningless: the 2022 guarantees were superseded in 2023. For an honest profile, “total guarantees” is unusable.

He Gave Back $35 Million — and It Checks Out

In July 2023, he signed a new deal with the Jets worth two years and $75,000,000 fully guaranteed — while nearly $110 million of guarantees remained outstanding from the Packers contract. The reduction is about $35 million, and the arithmetic is confirmed on the other end: the Jets paid him exactly $75,050,000. He never received the $35 million.

Two months later came the counterpart to that concession. He tore his Achilles tendon on the fourth snap of his Jets debut and still collected the full $36,888,888 for the 2023 season — a $35 million roster bonus, $1,838,888 in base salary and a $50,000 workout bonus. Fully guaranteed meant fully guaranteed.

When the Jets released him in March 2025, the cash consequence for him was zero: the $75 million was already paid. The $49 million figure reported at the time was the team’s dead money — cap accounting for money long since disbursed, not income to anyone. Over The Cap logs $96,313,570 of dead money across his career against explicitly $0 in cash paid. Adding it to his earnings would double-count.

The Incentives He Did Not Earn

His 2025 Steelers contract was reported at $13,650,000 with $10,000,000 guaranteed and a maximum of $19,500,000. He was paid $14,120,588 — meaning roughly $5.38 million of incentives never triggered.

The precision is worth pausing on. The shortfall against the per-game element is $29,412, which is exactly one seventeenth of $500,000 — one missed game. That is the level at which these contracts actually settle, and it is invisible in any headline number.

In May 2026 the Steelers signed him for one more year, at $22,500,000 with $22,000,000 guaranteed and up to $2.5 million in playoff incentives. He has said the 2026 season is his last.

Second All-Time, Not First

He held the career earnings record briefly, and many profiles still say he holds it. As of July 2026 Matt Stafford leads at $408,000,000, with Rodgers second. Adjusted for salary-cap inflation he ranks third, behind Peyton Manning and Tom Brady.

One methodological warning that applies to every career-earnings figure you will read anywhere: this data gets revised retroactively. A March 2025 report using the same source put Kirk Cousins at $364 million; the same database now shows $331,469,288. A career total cannot fall. Any such figure needs a retrieval date attached, and ours is 30 July 2026.

The Bucks Stake: One Per Cent, Price Undisclosed

His most-cited asset outside football is a 1 per cent holding in the Milwaukee Bucks, acquired in 2017 and announced in April 2018. The announcement contains no price and no stake size.

The $5.5 million that circulates is not a disclosure — it is a reporter’s calculation, one per cent of the roughly $550 million the team sold for in 2014. The same article states plainly that Rodgers politely declined to say how much he invested, and co-owner Wes Edens said he came in “at the original price” from 2014. The real figure could sit either side of $5.5 million depending on how the stake and its debt were defined.

For context only, and strictly separate from his share: Forbes valued the franchise at $4.3 billion in October 2025. Multiplying that by one per cent produces a fantasy number — dilution from capital calls, team debt and minority discounts are all unknown. We do not carry it, and neither should anyone else.

He Is Not an Endorsement Star

Aggregator profiles describe endorsements as a pillar of his wealth. Forbes’ own year-by-year splits say otherwise. In every year Forbes broke out the numbers, his off-field income was $6 to $9 million — never more than about 11 per cent of his annual total.

  • 2013 — sixth highest-paid athlete at $49.0 million: $43.0 million on-field, $6.0 million off
  • 2020 — $31.1 million, of which $9.0 million off-field
  • Fourteenth highest-paid athlete for the May 2021 to May 2022 window at $68.0 million
  • 2024 — reported at $80.8 million with $9.0 million off-field. We could not retrieve his line from the Forbes list page itself, so we mark this as reported rather than verified

No individual endorsement value has ever been published. For State Farm, whose twelve-year partnership ended after the 2022 season, one outlet estimated roughly $3 million a year — explicitly an estimate. For Adidas, Zenith, Sharpie, TaylorMade, Panini, Fanatics and the rest: nothing.

Property: Where List Price and Sale Price Diverge

  • Malibu, November 2019 — $28,000,000, bought off-market with Danica Patrick, in cash. The previous owner had paid $20.25 million four months earlier. Because it was off-market, no list price exists
  • New Jersey, 2023 — listed $11,000,000, sold at $9,500,000. The county’s most expensive sale that year, and a $1.5 million lesson in not quoting asking prices
  • Del Mar, 2021 — sold at $5,130,000 against a 2009 purchase of $2,050,000. We flag that the price traces to a property portal rather than a recorded deed, so we mark it reported
  • Wisconsin — only a $3,740,000 asking price is documented against a 2015 purchase of $1,740,000. No sale, no achieved price

The Only Controversy With a Number Attached

His 2021 statements on vaccination produced exactly three documented financial consequences, and we record them without any view on the statements themselves. The NFL fined him $14,650 for a protocol breach. Prevea Health ended a roughly nine-year partnership, value never disclosed. And State Farm first reduced his advertising presence, then let the relationship lapse. Everything else in that episode has no measurable financial effect and no place in a finance profile.

Why the Gap to Net Worth Cannot Be Closed

  • Agent fees: the players’ association standard representation agreement caps fees at 3 per cent of compensation actually received — a maximum of about $11.9 million here. The rate he agreed is not public, so 3 per cent is a ceiling, not a fact
  • Tax: he earned in Wisconsin, New York and New Jersey, and Pennsylvania while living in California — four regimes with income apportioned by where games were played. Any net calculation would be invention
  • The Bucks stake: potentially his largest single asset, with neither entry price nor stake definition disclosed
  • Rx3 Ventures: he co-founded a $50 million venture fund in 2019. His own contribution was reported only as “seven figures”, and the fund’s performance is unknown
  • Litigation: we searched federal court records and found no case with him as a party — 161 name matches all belong to other people. Nothing to add or subtract

The $250 million figure fails a simpler test too. The $418.2 million that Celebrity Net Worth cites as career earnings is the “potential earnings” field — it includes the $22.5 million for 2026 that has not been earned yet. And the page asserts he made well over $500 million while being worth $250 million, without explaining where the difference went. That is a placed number, not a calculation.

The Bottom Line

We publish the figure that is actually documented: $395,812,794 in NFL earnings through the 2025 season, second all-time in nominal terms and third once adjusted for cap inflation. On a full 2026 season that reaches about $418.3 million, and $420.8 million with every incentive.

What we will not do is convert it. Between gross earnings and net worth sit an unpublished agent rate, four tax jurisdictions, an asset with no disclosed price, a venture fund with no reported returns, and property whose current values nobody has measured. The income side of this profile is close to airtight. That is precisely what makes it the clearest demonstration on this site that a documented income does not produce a net worth.

What is Aaron Rodgers' net worth in 2026?

No verified figure exists. Celebrity Net Worth says $250 million with no method disclosed, and the same page claims career earnings well over $500 million without explaining where the difference went - a placed number rather than a calculation. It also cites $418.2 million in career earnings, which is the potential-earnings field including the $22.5 million for 2026 that has not been earned yet. What is documented is his income: $395,812,794 in NFL salary and bonuses through the 2025 season, reconciling three separate ways in the same database.

How much has Aaron Rodgers earned in the NFL?

$395,812,794 through the 2025 season - Packers $306,642,206, Jets $75,050,000 and Steelers $14,120,588 - according to Over The Cap, retrieved 30 July 2026. That makes him second all-time behind Matt Stafford at $408 million, though many profiles still call him the leader. Adjusted for salary-cap inflation he ranks third, behind Peyton Manning and Tom Brady. One caution: this data is revised retroactively, so any career-earnings figure needs a retrieval date - a March 2025 report using the same source put Kirk Cousins at $364 million, where the database now shows $331,469,288, and a career total cannot fall.

Why is Aaron Rodgers' contract value so different from what he was paid?

Because NFL contracts carry three numbers and headlines quote the largest. His 2022 Packers deal was worth $150,815,000 with $101,415,000 guaranteed - he received $41,950,000 from Green Bay, or 27.8 per cent. It was also first reported as four years and $200 million, against which he collected about 21 per cent. His 2025 Steelers contract had a maximum of $19,500,000 and paid $14,120,588, because roughly $5.38 million was tied to incentives that did not trigger. The precision is striking: the shortfall of $29,412 is exactly one seventeenth of $500,000, meaning one missed game.

Did Aaron Rodgers really give up $35 million?

Yes, and it checks out from both ends. In July 2023 he signed with the Jets for two years and $75,000,000 fully guaranteed, while nearly $110 million of guarantees remained outstanding from his Packers contract - a reduction of about $35 million. Over The Cap confirms the Jets paid him exactly $75,050,000, so he never received the difference. Two months later he tore his Achilles tendon on the fourth snap of his Jets debut and still collected the full $36,888,888 for that season, because it was fully guaranteed.

How much did Aaron Rodgers pay for his stake in the Milwaukee Bucks?

Not disclosed. What is established is a 1 per cent holding acquired in 2017 and announced in April 2018, with no price and no stake size in the announcement. The $5.5 million that circulates is a reporter's calculation - one per cent of the roughly $550 million the team sold for in 2014 - and the same article states that Rodgers politely declined to say how much he invested, while co-owner Wes Edens said he came in at the original 2014 price. Forbes valued the franchise at $4.3 billion in October 2025, but multiplying that by one per cent produces a fantasy figure, because dilution, team debt and minority discounts are all unknown.
